The 1994 Cuomo-Pataki comparison fits here because political establishments often mistake voter habit for permanent consent. Hochul’s vulnerability is the accumulated exhaustion of New Yorkers being asked to accept another excuse, another disappointment, and another lecture about why the alternative is unacceptable. Blakeman offers those voters somewhere to take that frustration. Polls deserve attention, but they cannot make an exhausted electorate renew its contract with Albany. Pataki’s victory remains a warning against treating a Democrat governor as politically indestructible. The call here is that Hochul malaise gives Blakeman his opening, provided dissatisfaction becomes turnout. New York has fired a Cuomo before. It can certainly fire the governor who inherited one’s office and expects to inherit the public’s patience.

Don’t believe the polls go out and vote tomorrow. Say no to Hochul and Fat Tish!
